152 – that is the number of t-shirts Kira owns (not shirts in general, just t-shirts). This means that if she wanted to, she could wear each t-shirt only 2.4 times a year. I laid all 152 out side by side on the dining room floor, hoping that one look would shock her into donating most of them. After completing my masterpiece, I waited with baited breath as I got her attention and pointed ominously towards them. She laughed and said, “good”! Instead of shocked, I think she was rather proud. I mean, what an accomplishment! She walked over and said, “I’m going to lay on them, take my picture”!
Not quite the reaction I had hoped for, but Kira and I are at completely different points in our journey. We all are. I know what motivates me is very personal, and my sense of urgency is entirely internal. After all was said and done, she did end up donating 42 – which is great. I’m proud of her!
